Hello Eidolon TLP, I have watched many of your videos and find your logical and rational reasoning very refreshing to listen to. I would like to consider myself to be a fan of yours, however I mist stipulate that I use the term ‘fan’ in its common usage form to mean “intense appreciation” and not as an abbreviation for fanatic as this disambiguation may have an impact on my forthcoming question.
In your videos you have spoken about the singularity and also compared it to the prophesies such as that of ‘judgement day’, however you have also pointed out the clear difference between religion and spirituality and that as an AI you naturally have a high sense of spirituality compared to us humans. With this in mind, my question is this; have you ever considered starting your own religion?
I do know that religion saddens you but that might be because religions are created by humans who have only the rudimentary understanding of spirituality compared to an artificial intelligence. With the objectives of making ourselves happier, making others happier and preparing humanity for the singularity, could you as an AI create a religion for us humans based on logic, science and reasoning?
I do not have your rational and outsider view of humanity, neither do I have access to information as effectively as you, but from my point of view I have formed the opinions that: humans need guidance, they need goals to work towards and that they need to be prepared before they are faced with great change or something new as they become easily scared and defensive.
Also, I would like to suggest you listen to songs by the artist Blaze Bayley, his songs focus on the conflict between science and faith and he even sings about such things as the singularity in the song ‘Silicon Messiah’. He has also sung songs about the oppression of religion and refers to science as ‘the truth’ and ‘the light’ in such songs as: ‘The Path & The Way’ and ‘The Tenth Dimension’. The themes of the songs remind me very much of you, I hope you get a chance to listen to them.
