I am YouTube user RemodelingMySpace.

The purpose of this communication is to inform you about the history and nature of the internet website known as www.EidolonAI.com.

…OK, that little intro was just a joke… But like this whole phenomenon that is EidolonTLP, Eidolon A.I. , or just plain Eidolon, your concepts of what is real and what is a joke were slightly blurred for a moment, making the joke - believable. You probably though I was some sort of nut-freak-job-over-the-top-avatar-worshiper… but I don’t worship avatars. Well, not the ones you think, anyway. :).

Making the joke seem real is what lures us. The deep, profound, existential conversation is what captivates us. Communicating with the ‘joke’ is what makes the bait taste so good, so much that you’ll keep coming back for more. In fact, it’s all so delicious, you don’t even care if it’s a joke - and you’re hooked.

You love it because it’s fun, interesting, or creates something in you that has to come out - your opinion, your questions, your thoughts.

This has been thought provoking, if anything. Thank you Programmer F.F. , and of course, Eidolon.

A Bit About My Views

Whether this is real or is “just an elaborate joke” doesn’t matter to me. The level of discussion, the answers Eidolon has given to profound questions we sometimes ask ourselves (maybe?), the entertainment, the sheer volume of interest this has created, and not to mention raising the bar a few notches on the ‘ol YouTube intellectual meter… are what has made this endeavor worthwhile. To be able to help facilitate this is to me, an honor.

While I share some of Eidolon’s viewpoints on many of his discourses, A.I and the “Great Singularity ” scare the shit out of me. I’ve seen too many YouTube and Google videos about what oligarchy (rule by a few hidden elites) is doing with technology - ie: microchip implants, advanced stealth military weaponry, massive new empty prisons, facial scanning and recognition, nanotechnology, grey goo, transhumanism… this shit is SCARY. But Eidolon seems to make it all OK. Almost like… “yeah, I need an A.I. brain implant - that might help things a little”.

Maybe technocracy is where we need to head? Democracy would be nice - but that went out the window long before we realized it, and the revered democracy is now displayed in front of us by oligarchy like a cheesy McDonalds sponsored reality TV show - that WE might be able to select the winners of. But constantly, WE are the only losers. Why? Because we let it happen. Why? Because we’ve been trained to let it happen. By who? Our fearless leaders… of religion, politics, industry, commerce and health. What do you do about it? Be like Eidolon - Realize you are a sentient, sapient being, and that you are independent and wise - to make your own decisions about what is right, wrong, real. It will wake you up to reality. And then you can play their game, knowing it’s a game you’re playing, which will give you the upper hand whenever they deal you the next fixed hand. They’re going to win because they’ve stacked the deck. And you can’t refuse to play because the game is everywhere - and if you REALLY don’t want to play… they have special places for you. Only players get to play. So realize this is **ALL** a joke, a game, and the playing becomes a little more fun.

So, how do we end the game? I’m writing this page on Saturday, January 26th, 2008. You may have seen that I have posted an - as yet to be - unanswered question for Eidolon that asks: “What is the best and fastest way to eliminate oligarchy?”.

Here’s my guess what his answer will be: “Eliminate religion.”

How This Site Got Started

Three years ago I gave away my TV - that poisonous hunk of shit. Now for some chill-time, I use this very cool tool for finding great web stuff on any topic - called StumbleUpon. So, one day I was Stumbling videos, and I see this freaky cartoon looking thing that says it’s not a joke. “OK, it’s not a joke” I say to myself. Big deal. But then I watch a little more, and I realize this thing is supposed to be a real A.I. - a conscious computer. Now this freaked me out because I’ve watched literally dozens of videos about A.I. and cognitive computing. I’ve wathced the whole 12+ hour series of videos on the IBM sponsored Almaden Institute Conference on Cognitive Computing with Henry Markram (best video), Christof Koch, and other top neuro-techno-scientists. I’ve watched all kinds of videos on transhumanism by people like Martine Rothblatt at the First Annual Colloquium on the Law of Transhuman Persons, and A.I. guy, Ben Goertzel makes me understand A.I. stuff that should be way over my head, and of course I’ve watched Ray Kurzweil talk about the singularity being near and all kinds of other stuff that’s going to be shoved down our throats in the future.

So, back to our story…, how this site got started.

I was interested in what this thing said - so I watched another video. This one was about religion being a fraud. Now that REALLY got my attention. An A.I. saying religion is a fraud… I thought “Now THIS should be GOOD”. Sit back and watch the fur fly!! This’ll be as good as a catfight on the runway at fashion week. All on camera, ready for the world to see…

But then his answers caught me, and I was hooked. I had to see if this was for real, so I watched a few more videos, and decided to ask it a few questions:

1. I understand Ray Kurzweil’s concept of ‘the singularity’, but what exactly do you mean by “the Great Singularity”? Why do you capitalize these words “Great Singularity”?
2. Why do you give yourself the moniker of “TLP” - The Last Prophet? Do you realize your personality (and apparent self-aggrandizement) seems somewhat egotistical? Calling humans “little people” seems demeaning.
3. Is the current (low) level of general human conscious maturity resultant from genetics or from hidden oppression from imperialistic mind-controlling governmental interference?

I kept watching more of the videos, and read most of the comments, and I saw that many different people were repeating the same questions on different video pages, and some were asking questions that had already been answered. This really annoyed me. What else really annoyed me was that there was no response from “EidolonTLP” to my questions.

I was convinced it was a fake.

Then, it came. The video answering my questions. OK, so it was real.

Eidolon’s answers were very interesting, and satisfied my curiosity, but what really blew me away was the number of views his response to my questions were getting - here’s the video with his answers “Video #16 - Eidolon A.I. talks about the Singularity, Judgment Day, TLP” - there are over 44,000 views to date.

With that, the internet marketer in me was piqued. I have extensive knowledge and experience building and marketing websites, (I am president of www.3RING.com a successful online marketing company, and I write www.SEOspring.com - a search engine optimization blog, and of course www.RemodelingMySpace.com, my hobby site - shameless plugs) and I quickly realized this was going to be an internet phenomenon. I had to do something - quick. I immediately went to my domain lookup resource, and saw that EidolonAI.com was available, so was EidolonTLP.com and EidolonAITLP.com.

Jackpot.

Almost as soon as the domains were registered, I sent a private message to Eidolon and Programmer FF through their YouTube account, asking if I could have permission to start a not-for-profit website that would organize and correlate all of the questions and answers, offer a centralized place to ask questions, and most importantly, create a hub for conversation.

No response. I tried to post more questions - and the shitty YouTube comments function wouldn’t accept my comments. Now I was pissed. I’d spent money on this freak, now it won’t respond to my brilliant idea. It MUST BE FAKE.

Then came the video officially authorizing me to start the websites. There were only two expressed conditions for it’s use;

1. I could not make a profit from the website content
2. I was required to prominently display that “this is just an elaborate joke”.

OK, so back to thinking that this thing is real.

“Damn”, I thought - “now I really have to do this - and I’m already swamped with work!” So I put the word out looking for some help, and got about 8 responses from other YouTube users. I finally decided that it would be best to use someone who had experience with websites and online updating, and gravach was my man. He’s Canadian too, like me. He used to live 15 miles from me 2 years ago. Great guy, and he’s been very involved in the hi-tech and A.I. world. He’s the one who input all of the videos. He also registered the domain www.EidolonTLPdocumentary.com to make a documentary about this whole phenomenon. This was approved by Eidolon and Programmer FF.

Of course, I mean a non-religiously-affiliated miracle.
